Dr. Tellechea completed her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at Florida State University where she graduated with honors after presenting her dissertation on Iron Effects on Protein Biochemistry, Emphasis NMR and Mass Spectrometry. She received a Master’s in Public Health at the University of Miami, with a focus on providing healthcare to underserved areas. She pursued her medical degree at Ponce School of Medicine. She completed a surgical internship at Tufts School of Medicine/Baystate Medical Center and a Gynecology residency at Rutgers.

Dr. Tellechea is a board-certified obstetrician gynecologist, board certified in Urogynecology and is an avid advocate for Women’s Health. Her passion for women’s quality of life led her to complete a specialty training fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at Einstein Montefiore in a Urology and Gynecology based program. Dr Tellechea is honored to provide quality and compassionate care to women with urologic and gynecologic issues including urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain syndromes, recurrent UTIs, urethral diverticulum, urethral strictures, urogenital fistula and more. Her practice provides office cystoscopy for bladder evaluations, pessary fitting for prolapse and incontinence, peripheral tibial nerve stimulation (PTNS), peripheral nerve evaluation (PNE), bladder botox injections for overactive bladder, urodynamic evaluation of the bladder for complex bladder issues, and urethral bulking agents for stress urinary incontinence. Dr Tellechea also specializes in various surgical approaches including vaginal, laparoscopic and robotic assisted modalities. She is certified in FLS (fundamentals of laparoscopic surgery) and in Robotic Surgery.

In addition to her clinical focus Dr Tellechea has an interest in the global improvement of Women’s Health and has had the opportunity to work, learn and serve on multiple continents. She is also productive in academic pursuits and has been recognized for her basic science and clinical research on a national and international level. She is particularly interested in continuing research regarding socioeconomic disparities related to pelvic floor disorders and its treatments, and wants to continue to work on this issue. Dr Tellechea is fluent in both Spanish and English.
